Great show, a few too many Douche bags yelling stupid things. Very cool to see NIN as a 4 piece and a good set list. Nothing from the slip though.

Was an amazing show! And I thoroughly enjoyed Jane's and Mew. I met some nice ETS folk too. Very tired now, but looking forward to tomorrow immensly.

The section from the becoming through to wish made me hard.

Great show, band was awesome - very powerful as a 4-piece. Personally, would have loved to have heard more from With Teeth and The Slip but this was predominantly a downward spiral / fragile-dominated show so can't have everything! From the balcony, the crowd looked amazing. Though the top tier wasn't full it was still a pretty massive crowd and great atmosphere. I have now seen NIN 3 times and would rate this a close second just behind Brixton 2005, and a little ahead of Glasgow arling Academy a couple of years ago. Janes were good too but definitely NIN's night.

The last setlist posted is correct, I put it in my phone as they were playing. Amazing show. Second (and last) time I saw them. TDTWWA is my favourite NIN song and they played it. I could die happy now. Photos (and maybe vids if the quality's okay) to follow if I can remember this login

Not sure what to make of Mew, they seemed to be three different bands all playing at the same time. Jane's Addiction were good but no Jane Says? Why? Nine Inch Nails were excellent and it was great to hear some tracks I'd never heard them play live before especially I'm Afraid of Americans. I'm sorry they didn't play Closer but ending with Hurt made me so sad that I'll probably never see them on stage again.

Oh holy fuck give London a set list that good please. Oh my god.

Really wish I'd got standing tickets because seated just didn't cut it atmosphere wise. I was a little disappointed set wise, was hoping for less Downward Spiral and a bit of a broader mix (if they finished with In This Twilight, I would have been very happy), but they still brought the energy (after a couple of tracks anyway, seemed a little loose to begin with).

What happened during Piggy? Did Trent just ditch the mic in the crowd and let them fill in or what? Couldn't really see the action down the front from where I was sat.

I think I might now be blind from the excessive use of strobes.

Several good songs I haven't heard yet/in a while during the NIN set.

Solid/standard performance from NIN, AWESOME performance from Mew. I could tell JA were putting a lot of effort into their show (they looked a bit nervous to begin with?) but I didn't get much out of it at all. Felt sorry for the MEN staff trying to get their heads around the presale system!

How full was the venue in the end?

Couple of other things I forgot to post before:
- Does Rob have an invisibility cloak? I didn't see him at all...
- Screaming "FIST FUCK" with everyone was a big highlight.
- The pit was rougher than I'd thought it would be - during March of the Pigs I thought I was going to be smushed.
- It's a bit of a rollercoaster emotionally - I was tearing up during TDTWWA but then jumping around like a maniac during THTF, then back to tears again for Hurt.
- When Trent came on there was just a moment of "oh my god that's Trent Reznor". It's so weird because you watch so many videos and the dvds and then suddenly he's right in front of you and you can't quite believe it.
- I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS EVENING!

Great show, loved it, so pleased with the setlist. Heh the MEN staff outside did seem confused as hell, somewhat understandably, but that big tour manager guy just kicks ass, glad there was no running/shoving.

Really nice to see you guys, too.

I was surprised that Mew didn't play some of their more well known songs such as Why Are You Looking Grave? or the new one, Repeaterbeater. The only song that I saw get a real reaction was Am I Wry? No

I was at the front and Jane Says was the final song on the set-list, they must've just ran out of time. I heard them soundchecking the acoustic guitars too, so they were definitely going to play it.

Nine Inch Nails left me speechless. Was awesome singing Piggy with Trent

Yeh, we kept the Mic for a little while
I was completely blinded by the lights, I stuggled to get back out of the venue at first, the strobes in Head Like A Hole were unreal, though we had excessive fog this time, so maybe they wanted to go OTT with somethign different this time
With the unreal amount of pushing nearer to the ned of the set I don't think I would've been able to enjoy In This Twilight nearly as much as I could've somewhere else, had they played it. I was itching to see it but by the end of the set I was kinda sick of the puddles of sweat and the drunk middle-aged dudes screaming and punching people.

Everyone around me was great just in front of Robin, but there were some real Cocks that stormed down during Janes.

I was off-right centre and ended up about 3 rows back from the rail. There were a few trouble makers but they didn't seem middle aged... some guy kept elbowing my brother but he looked about 15, another guy in a leather jacket (who I can only imagine was baking) kept trying to push me away from the mate I was with but you've got to just ignore that sort of thing and enjoy the gig.

I thought Jane's Addiction were awful. Well... the band were good but Perry Farrell's vocals were really, really bad.

NIN... that's the best I've seen them easily, and dare I say it but Ilan Rubin is better than Josh Freese - the sound on his drums was scary, it sounded like fireworks in parts, plus he was like Animal off Muppet Show! I don't know whether to be happy or sad they're going out when they touring band is the best I've seen (2005-now). Was so happy they played Metal which is probably my favourite song off the mix cd's. Any bootlegs floating about or is it too early?

best gig of my life. having said that, its actually the first (and last:() time i have seen nin. been one of my favourite bands for a long time. for the farewell tour i was expecting some cinematic screens, random imagery etc. the strobes i fucking loved nevertheless. when leaving i couldnt see shit. me and my mate had left the Wirral, got over to manchester and where a bit meh about janes addiction, the never done anything for me really, and fuck mew, meh to mew bleh.. went for a few drinks in the pub with square outside i forget the name.. arrived got a beer for three pound fifty, (cunts) and yes i never learn, needed a piss just after i got in, upon leaving to go to the toilets, the lights went down..at that point i didnt care if i pissed myself, i wasnt missing anything. as id never been to a nin gig before, i honestly expected it to be more alive, there was alot of people looking like they were standing waiting for a bus, um hello.. nin...farewell tour.. i didnt pay much attention dont get me wrong, but at the times i glanced around, it was more like people thought they were at a coldplay gig..but in comparison to seeing one of my favourite bands, who i listen to everyday without fail, showing everyone what live music is all about, i didnt care much what was going on around me..it would have been nice if people were as enthusiastic as myself and my friend, and the people we were jumping around singing with, but ,maybe they were all dancing and singing inside as they looked like they were standing waiting for a bus..who knows:) the set list was amazing, your not going to get your perfect setlist are you? more power to those who actually got all the songs they wanted to hear, happy days:) i personally loved the "broken" tracks which is an album i listen to daily. if they had played psychical i would have been made up, and not so bothered i didnt hear, in this twighlight, great destroyer, the great below, i cant compare to any other gigs, beacause as i said, its my first and last nin gig, but i couldnt have asked for a better experience, taking into consideration, the above didnt effect my experience, just my opinions. eberyone i spoke to, who had been to loads of nin gigs, had said it was one of the best they had been to, so i count myself lucky, allthough i heard about the brixton gig and am very jealous i wasnt there lol, i wanted a pit for the broken songs, especially suck, but it was good enough to be jumping around i guess, i didnt witness any people being twats and throwing elbows and fists on purpose, but that comes with any half decent gig in my opinion..i hope everyone made the most of what seems to be the last time we will see nin perform live:)

Great gig last night, lots of classic stuff for us oldies, shame they didn't play a few newer songs, but you can't have everything!
The place was packed - from my vantage point the floor looked totally full and the seats 95% taken, in reply to the earlier question
The crowd were absolutely mental, I was actually glad we were seated - we had a good seat to the left of the stage, to only problem was it meant the right bank of strobes were pointed squarely at us. "Heavy strobe useage" doesn't come close!
Mew were quite good - a wierd Depeche mode/radiohead/??? mixture, JA rocked though I was only familiar with a couple of songs I enjoyed them immensely.
The AIR balloon looked a lot of fun - for some reason it kept getting pushed over the rail and the security guys kept batting it back in. Eventually it got knocked out of their reach onto the stage, and got kicked out by Justin during Terrible Lie. also who'd have thought condoms would float so well - must have been all the hot air coming off all those sweaty bodies!
There was a frantic few mins or so of people working on the double bass- trying to fix the bridge I think. They mustn't have been successful as I don't think it was used in the end.
Got a few pics (so-so quality) which I'll upload later. did a v small amount of film with my camera, but the poor mic couldn't cope with the volume! I hope someone ups a decent audio recording.

What a great way to see NIN for what may be the last time. I only queued from 2pm but managed to get a great spot on the rail on Justin's side. Really appreciated how well the whole presale handing out of tickets and early entry to the venue was managed.

The setlist was great from my point of view, and I finally got to hear The Becoming live. Hurt seemed to take on an extra poignancy, with the knowledge that this tour is an extended farewell.

I'm not a fan of Jane's Addiction but they were certainly entertaining. Apart from the last song they played, I found Mew worthy but dull.

He came out in front of the stage twice during NIN's set - once with a camera and once with what may have been a video camera.

Those weren't on sale though. I think they anticipated how many tickets they would sell pretty much perfectly. The seating that was available was 95% full (apart from the seats at the back you'd need binoculars for), and you don't want a half empty arena when you can cover up the empty bits and make it look nice and full.

well an awesome time was had!!

The meet and greet organisation was a bit of a mystery to us waiting! (great to meet you guys by the way). There was a hilarious guy who worked there as a supervisor to the stewards. He was there straight from Butlins by the sound of him and who was enjoying his 5 mins of fame moving the lines around and ordering his staff all over the place! We got inside eventually but there was no soundcheck which was a real shame- we never got a good explanation of why not either- they did their best for us though and the production and tour manager showed us around and introduced a few people. Jason (?) the lighting tech- who is a total hottie! and Robins guitar tech were high lights as was the mug the production manager had with Trents face on it- haha!

We were split into groups of 18 to meet the band- they were all so nice and welcoming and asked me my name and shook hands. Justin was very cool and took the time to have a proper chat with me. My mum said to Ilan ‘that was a nice birthday present then’ and he laughed and said ‘it sure was’! I took my promo copy downward spiral vinyl for Trent to sign- I already have Russell Mills' autograph on there so Trent was quite interested. I asked him whether he still had any art work from the downward spiral and he said he still had the one from the cover and the inside sleeve on the wall of his living room at home but one of the teeth had fallen out one of them!! We got a nice small group picture of us all together which I cant wait to see and which I may post later!
Totally worth the money and the guys were so kind to do it bless them!

Onto the gig.
Mew were awful. It felt like one long song to me and any flashes of good stuff were ruined for me by the poor vocal of the lead singer.

I think everyone knows I didn’t like JA when they were around the first time so I wont say too much here and will leave it to others who, you know, gave a shit, to fill you in. It was cool to see Dave playing but I cant stand Perry and he was a bit annoying.
I never saw them back in the day so I cant compare their performance but I was surprised at how bored I was. I was literally falling asleep by the sound desk. They played ‘been caught stealing’ but no ‘jane says’. The rest of the set felt like one long song to me. If it wasn’t for the entertaining nature of the lighting guy dancing as he was doing the lights I may have knawed my own arm off to stave off the boredom. But like I said, I didn’t rate them previously

The nin part of the gig was fab, the usual intensity and great as a 4 piece. Welcome home Robin.
I felt it was a very odd set list and the gig was paced a bit strangely too. ‘metal’ and ‘im afraid of americans’ had all the young teens near me perplexed although quite a few of them knew ‘burn’. Trent went down to the crowd for a while and we had some people joining in the singing. People managed to be mostly well behaved during ‘hurt’ but there were a couple of cocks in the seats shouting shit out. Great sing along moment though and always gives me shivers to hear everyone singing the words back to him.

I suppose as we wont be seeing them live for a while it is easy to sit around imagining your dream set list and then being disappointed when you don’t get it. But no ‘closer’ or ‘sin’ made me a little sad.
I also thought Trent’s voice was going a bit by the end of the gig so I hope he is ok for London.

Gutted we got pushed out a side door afterwards which meant I didn’t get to buy any merch. If anyone got a spare patch they want to trade or sell let me know!

All I can say to sum up is that NIN are awesome live and I will miss them a lot. It was extra special to meet Trent and the band and it was worth the driving and getting home at 2am and getting up for work today! Come back soon guys!!

Blistering show, a big improvement then the last one i saw at the apollo four years ago. As promised it was a more stripped down affair where the music was a lot more raw and the lights were more in your face then being a pretty additive to the show.
I was waiting for Mr self destruct but it never came and this was my only disapointment of the night, though only a slight one.
A brilliant set list, my personal highlights were piggy, I'm afraid of american's (which i'd never heard before) and somewhat damaged.
Would love to hear a live version of perfect drug, i don't think thats been done before; ah well.
Goodbye Trent, hope you have a change of heart and that we will see you on tour again.

Such a fantastic gig - sadly my first and last time seeing NIN, but I'm glad I saw them before it was too late - they blew me away!

I was the one who kept asking about the M&G/pre-sale - apologies for that :\! Everything worked out fine and the NIN staff were awesome! What do I mean 'fine', it was AMAZING!!!

For me it ended bad: Ryanair-flight to Charleroi had almost 8 hours delay. Back home last night 2:00AM. Right now at work (started 6:00 AM).

Just reading London reviews heard them soundchecking 'Cars' from outside the back of the venue. I was convinced we would get it but alas.

What a fucking performance!
We were really pleased with the setlist. There was real good energy room where we were standing (kinda dead centre of the floor).
This was the fifth time I have saw Nine Inch Nails and it was, without a doubt, the best performance I have seen.
Only wish I had made it to London.
It's definitely sad to say this will probably be the last time I will see NIN but it sure has been fun.

They played The Fragile. I've wanted to see it live for so long now so now I can die happy. Only thing that was missing was Now I'm Nothing and Dead Souls. I am quite surprise Dead Souls wasn't played.

As soon as Somewhat Damaged started I got beer chucked into my eye but I keep jumping around all the same. Some dickhead was screaming during Gone, still but I think he walked away when the set stayed softer for that section. The set they did play was amazing. I can't believe I got to hear The Becoming and The Way Out Is Through.

I don't suppose anyone managed to grab a recording of this the show? I found one last time I saw NIN in Manchester back in 07 and I'm still listening to it to this day. I would be incredibly grateful if anyone felt like sharing as I'm itching to have one for nostalgia purposes / sentimental value.

Ignoring that last post, I'm home so here's my opinion because I all know you care so much:

I wish Jane's had closed, they blew NIN the fuck out of the water. The only person who compared to the energy was, surprisingly, Justin, the dark horse of the night.

Setlist was eh. 2 songs made in the last 10 years?? When there wasn't even a tour for the last 2 albums that's pretty disappointing. As usual, Trent appears to never give a shit about the north, ever, and apparently played a much better show in London.

To be fair, a lot of my apathy is probably my fault. I don't really like the band any more and probably wouldn't have gone if it wasn't for the whole "last tour except it's not really a last tour it's just an excuse to never play anywhere except the US ever again" stuff. The "being stuck on a train for 7 hours then stuck in Manchester Airport for 9" brought it down a bit, too.

On the bright side, it helped me overcome my fear of flying. Cheers Trent! Also, the ETSers I met were v. nice people. I wish I could have met more of you, but most of you were in standing.

I havent bothered posting anything anywhere since the Spiral went down, so here goes. I've only been to one NIN show (out of about 60 I think) where there's been such a huge number of bellends spoiling it for other people (1st night Glasgow Academy if you wondered) - any time there was anything remotely quiet people were talking/fannying about with their mobiles, and just generally arsing about. I can only put it down to the size of the show and the number of 'tourists' coz the shows at Manc Apollo have always been great.
If this had been my last headline NIN show I'd have been gutted. I took a carfull down and 2 of them thought Jane's were the better band. Thankfully London the next night blew this out of the water completely.
