Me, I'm Not
Trent: TY! How are you tonight? I wanna sincerely thank one of our heroes and friends Robert Smith for having us out here. That phone call, that invitation started the whole tour, this being the first official night, so, thanks again. All of us are in various uh... states of exhaustion and jet lag right now, so we all kinda high, and the colors seem real and fucking... intense. Apparently today we have a new album out. [big cheers] We gonna play a couple things from that right now.

Even Deeper
Trent: TY. TYVM. Sincerely, umm... I sense something rambling, that's not gonna make a lot of sense, about to come out of my mouth, so please bear with me... We uh... This run of shows, we decided to come back and play for a bit, really just because, um... we're grateful that people still care, and grateful that we're able to do this. Because it was [??] us sane and just a way to kind of make sense of the world, and... before the show tonight. Somewhere in the audience is our dear friend Alan Moulder, who really is another member of the band, he's... he's amongst you, out there somewhere. And... We decided, we felt like we wanted to play a lot of songs from The Fragile tonight, because... The weird thing about being around for a long time, playing music for a while, is we... The Fragile is a pretty dark period in my life, and when we... when Alan and I sat in the studio for two-plus years, waiting for me to get my shit together... It uh... I dunno, defined... it made life understandable. When we play these songs now, we really... fucking... we get there. We're not going through the motions and... Thanks for the opportunity to do it! TY for indulging us to do a self-indulging setlist that we wanna play tonight. TY. I've got another song from The Fragile. Go!

Notes
I was supposed to send over the pond the ninlive recording rig to Sheepdean for this show. But sadly, I had just started my anesthesia program and a bunch of excuses why it didn't get there. So my bad. This is a festival thats lineup was curated by Robert Smith of The Cure. I had hoped/asssumed this one would definitely get taped because of The Cure's following. But sadly, nothing has been released from this festival in terms of NIN's set. But thankfully, Sheepdean decided to tape the show with their phone. It's a good documentation of the night. Obviously, not ideal and it is a decent recording for what it is. I hope that one day there will be a proper audience recording that surfaces from this date. This is a fantastic setlist from the Euro leg. Also to note, I think the crowd around Sheepdean is very entertaining! At the beginning of Big Come Down is probably my favorite reaction to a song. Thanks again to Sheepdean for sending this over to document on the archive!
