Recordings
Notes
This is another recording from Barrie. For a total of 3. This is a DAT master copy that was copied to a cassette tape. Big thanks to Smores for sending me over this tape, along with a bunch of other ones. The recording is good, sound is great. The left channel has some screamers at the beginning of the show and they stop over time. Overall, this is a great recording to add to the collection! Update Thanks to Happiness In Hersey, this quote was found on alt.nin from Mark W, "Finally got my second DAT and am itchin to make some dubs. I am looking for other HIGH QUALITY DAT audience tapes - send along your list and I will do the same. Shows I have taped include 8/6/94 Barrie, 8/27/94 Rochester, and 11/29/94 Buffalo. The last two are phenominal". This was given to me from Smores and this tape may have been received in a trade with the other Mark W. recordings he got. Not to mention, this DAT tape is not as good as his other two recording (as he stated). This is more than likely his recording of that show. So I have updated this source/folder to show that.

This is straight from the 8mm master & is a really well-shot piece of work. Some very nice framing with a very good audio track, this has been filmed from balcony centre & is a very entertaining show

Smores sent me over a copy of this recording on a cassette. This cassette copy was recorded from the VHS player to cassette. I like the sound. I could rip the audio from the above video, but this sounds just as good. It is also a few minutes longer than the video version above.
Notes
This was released on DIME via cassette transfer and for a 1994 recording its good! This must have been a higher generation as there is more hissing but this is one of the better recordings from the Self Destruct Tour. UPDATE: This is the same DAT that was transferred a few years ago by FULLMETAL. He sent this over for me to transfer a few years ago and I finally got around to tracking all of this out. The initial transfer was good but the hiss was a little more noticeable and also there was some digital noise in a few of the tracks. This is a clean transfer and that's why I would release a re-transfer. Still looking for a lower gen of this recording to get rid of some of the hiss as this is probably from a 2-3rd gen cassette to DAT. It really is a great recording.
Notes
Unknown source. Above average recording. It's possible that this is a clone of "The Snake is in Paris" silver CD, but we don't have a copy of it. So not entirely sure. If you can help out with this recording, please contact me.

This is one of the best early video audience recordings of 1994. This is filmed from the rear-center of the venue and has some great steady close ups! Sound is very good too! I would highly suggest grabbing this one! - I was messaged about a year ago about some tapers getting together, pooling some funds and obtaining a few master videos from Europe to transfer. This was the only Nine Inch Nails video in the lot. I had sort of forgotten about it until it was dropped in my inbox! Thank you to DW for transferring this and RL for organizing and liberating these master tapes. This video is source 1 on the archive and a MASSIVE upgrade from the original source on the archive. I assume the PAL version was from a VHS copy bootleg. A higher gen and a bit grainy. The new master transfer is excellent. Crystal clear and full view of the stage with really nice close ups, filmed from the rear-center.

This is from the master tape. Not sure who recorded this, or how it was transferred. But this has the soundboard audio mixed in with it. Recorded from the floor, the shot is pretty decent with good stable close ups and as good as it will be filming from the floor. This is another confirmation that this board feed is from 05/26 and not from 05/24 like it has been mislabled on the bootleg CDs.

This was on someone's list but I have never seen this publically circulating. If anyone knows who taped this show, or has a copy. Please get in contact.

This was uploaded to DIME MAY 2022 by Harvey1. This cassette was purchased at a record fair in Edinburgh in the late 90s. Although I don't know for certain, this sounds like it could be that source 2 (Sony TCD-D3 + Sony ECM-909) recording that is listed on the archive, but I have no recording. At this point this is considered Source 3. As we have no definitive proof. But I would guess with how clear the recording is itself, it could be sourced from a DAT recording. The transfer has a bit of electrical interference in it, I contacted the uploader and they threw away the tape.. Sound is rather good, but it seems to be a higher gen tape. If you know anything about this recording, or potentially have an upgrade to this (master DAT?) I'd love to add it to the archive! I am still searching for a 5/25/1994 Forum tape too.
Notes
Very good recording. Suffers speed problems throughout... Probably from the cassette transfer. Would like an upgrade of the source if anyone has one. Please .
Notes
Lacks bass and heavy on treble, lots of hiss. Need a lower gen of this recording.
Notes
Mono recording.
Notes
Heavy on treble, and for the first few songs or so the taper adjusts the volume on the recorder. Cassette sourced. Mono.

Thank you to Kevin K for sharing this cassette tape with me. It's taken some time for me to finally get this tracked and analyzed, but it is indeed an upgrade for source 2 of this show. I had transferred the first copy of this tape and it was very muddy. More than likely a high generation of this recording. Can confirm these are both the same recordings with the tape flip coming right at the start of Get Down Make Love and a pause after Head Like A Hole to preserve tape during the encore break. I would say there is a drastic improvement in sound quality. I would suspect this cassette copy is a low gen. Potentially 1st or 2nd gen. It's hard to tell.
Notes
This is sourced from the bootleg titled, "Buttfuck Parlour Time #23". Yeah weird title, I know. This is not a pressed silver CD as some people have thought. Mono sourced.
Notes
Update from ninlive: I have reworked this recording because the transfer ran way too fast. I slowed it down by 4.5% and have retracked the recording. The initial transfer itself was not great. The recording was transferred very low and you get a lot of the noise floor in the transfer, meaning a lot of hiss that would not be there had they transferred this at a decent level. First few songs are cut and I am not sure if it was because it was a bootleg and they didn't want to share a full recording or what, but very weird if you ask me. I would love to find an upgrade to this source.
Notes
Thanks to JW for reaching out to the archive. Found their cassettes in the basement and this one was bought in a music store on Newbury St. in Boston. I suspect with them selling bootlegs, this must be a pretty low gen recording. Comparing it to source 1 on the archive, this is definitely a different source and complete. Source 1 is missing a good bit of the first few songs, as they are cut. This recording needed a bit of help, it ran slow, so I sped it up to normal playing speed by cross referencing a few other tapes from the tour to match the speed of the songs. Tape flip comes after The Only Time. I initially just had JW's transfer of this, but he was kind enough to send the tape to me to do a bit of work on it. Azimuth adjustment and recording to the Marantz at a proper level has definitely improved this tape. Taper must have moved their mics on the tape flip because the sound is a lot better and clearer.
Notes
Alternate recording from this show. A very good recording as well. Mono.

Big thanks to ETS user, FULLMETAL for sending me over a bunch of DAT tapes to transfer! All of them are upgrades, but this one is the biggest upgrade of the lot! Used to have this recording as a DAT > Cassette(2) and the recording sounded pretty poor due to hiss. This version is a DAT clone and sounds ridiculously good! Recorded with Schoep MK4s mics. For the archive, we have kept the original 16/48 that the master tape was done at, for archiving purposes. You will have to convert these files to 16/44.1 if you wish to burn them to a CD. If anyone knows who taped this recording, please get in contact. Notes, used to have another source here as well. But that was deemed the same recording, only in mono. So there is only one known source from this show.
