Was recently back in San Diego for a wedding and I made a few trips to pick up some miniDV and HDV masters up in Los Angeles. Huge haul and I'm excited to be working on it. Just be coincidence, TIMP had gotten his master tapes back from his friend that has been holding onto them at the same time. Back in 2010, I got a lot of his masters from transfer that had been done long ago. They were done through the line out/headphone jack and I knew that doing an optical transfer could optimize the recordings. I had just told him to keep me in the loop with/when he ever was able to get his tapes back. To get back to the story, he was kind enough to bring them over to me so I can transfer them once I get back home! Huge! There was a lot of tapes that I did not have, including this one. Tape sounds excellent! MD flip is after "Even Deeper" and right before "Wish," Trent expresses his distain for the heckler of The Dresden Dolls. Which TIMP also recorded. Again, huge thanks for TIMP allowing me to take his master tapes to work on. Great to revisit these tapes again and get the proper transfers of them!At this point, this is the first time these two San Diego tapes have been released.

Thanks to the JEMS crew for sending over these master transfers of Keith M's DAT master recordings. A little work had to be done on this tape with some phase issues that have been partially corrected. Not sure if the mic was partially covered, or one of the channels going bad. There is also a screamer next to the taper that was reduced as best as I could do.

Last night of the With Teeth Club Tour in North America. Every tape I have heard from these shows seem to be dialed in after the month of growing pains getting back on tour after a long hiatus. One of the smaller venues on the club tour as well, with just over 2,000 people. The recording itself is good. But with like most of the Sonic mic recordings done in this collection, they have a bit too much bass. Hugo requested that I reduce it a little. Which I did. This tape is slightly better than the first night, imo. Thank you again for sharing your recordings with me to share with everyone.

Another uncirculated DAT master from Hugo's collection. I was able to meet up with Hugo before the NIN LA Forum shows in September to grab a trove of DAT/MD recordings he and Slickmode did throughout Southern California in the early 2000s. Thank you to Hugo for entrusting me to transfer these tapes and get them out there for people to enjoy! This was recorded by Slickmode. Both taper's stood on opposite sides of the board. Slick did IEM the night before, but I am not sure if it was done this night as well. It would have been on MD, if so. Slick may have more tapes. But I have lost contact with him years ago. The middle of the set has some cellphone interference on the tape. Yes, cell phone interference. What a wild thing that used to be. We take for granted now that it's a non issue. But overall the recording is good.
