Sheepdean borrowed the ninlive traveling recording rig for a few shows on the European leg of the tour. The shows they hit were shows I was not sure if they would get recorded, and at this point, correct. This is the live debut of 'Sunspots' which has been rehearsed in the past but never played at a show. It sounds great, recording is great, setlist is great. I am popping this on the iPhone for current rotation. If you want to tape NIN in the future with the traveling rig, get in contact.

I wasn't sure who was going to take over the reigns of the ninlive project in Boston.. But I got an email from RJW a week or so before the shows and I asked and he said, "sure why not?" I was so pumped. He has been a huge supporter of the archive since day 1 and we have exchanged many conversations and he is a huge die hard, you can tell. So it was extra special to have him record the two nights in Boston. I am excited to see his tour journal entries too! Night two's recording is DIALED IN. I hope that RJW is very proud of this recording! I am so pumped to add this one. It's amazing. I love when I get a recording and the waveform looks uniform! Really great tape and you can tell from the samples. IMO, this is one of the best sets of the tour. It literally has everything and a few rare cuts in there. The Great Destroyer is just an assault on the ears. Atticus is such a great addition to the band. So pumped about this recording, it really is great! Thank you to RJW for recording in Boston!

Little bit of trouble on the first night (to note, the second night he NAILED IT!). It seemed that the recorder's levels ran a bit hot all night and the bass is brickwalled. I did my best to fix the waveform and reduce the bass a bit. But once you're brickwalled, that's it. There will be other recordings out there from this night, that I know of. But the ninlive project was supposed to capture the events with its imperfections of first time tapers. Although a bit rough, it's great to have a tape of the show. Because you never know when there won't be a source and it's better to have no source than none! I can't thank RJW enough for taking the time to do this.

JS's last of his run of shows he did with the ninlive archive rig! Another great recording of what I personally think was the best setlist of the run of shows in New York. This was the 2nd time that the Broken EP was performed live in its entirety. I am still hoping for the day that they finish the show with "The Background World" and distort out with each member walking off the stage. A big thank you to JS for taking it all four shows. It was an epic run!

Taper recorded this show from the pit. Thanks again to LFG who has been an absolute beast taping pretty much every show it seems like.

JS taking the ninlive rig to Brooklyn! This recording is good as well! I just want to say thank you to him for taking this for the run of NYC shows. This show's setlist is one of my favorites from the tour thus far. How they go right into "Mr. Self Destruct" after "Terrible Lie" is great! No fooling around! The first few tracks sound a bit muffled compared to the rest of the night, but it cleans up nice and it's definitely a great tape and I am so pumped to have it for the archive! The project has been great thus far, and I can't wait to get the physical journal back to add entries to the archive!

LFG was given front row passes so he handed his recording rig to a buddy who was at the back of the pit. A good friend to keep taping! The tape is pretty decent, but after Find My Way, they had to use the toilet. The recording then starts at the end of "I Do Not Want This."

JS had a bit of problems with the recording from the night previous when the mic disconnected from the recorder and the internals were totally blown out. But man, this tape smokes and I am glad he could redeem from the previous night! I know how frustrating that can be! It's an amazing tape. The performance is great! In London, TR said that it would be the last time they played "I Can't Give Everything Away" but TR goes on to say that We're in New York and goddammit we miss him. During the Encore TR was going to talk about Kanye but said it wouldn't be right. He went on to say this (kind of summed up) "Two different people came up to me and that music had saved them in some fashion.. I was thinking about music and it's taken a back seat to.. whatever ... social media and whatever distractions. Music saved me and the privilege of making music for you has saved me" and he goes on to say that "Even Deeper" saved him making it." It was really the most TR has spoken at a show in a while. Damn... This isn't even my tape and I wish it was!!! What a show to be at. I can't thank JS enough for taking the recorder for these NY shows and getting such a great capture. Enjoy the tape. I'm stoked how well the project is going.

This is the first time that "The Perfect Drug" was performed live! This was probably the most requested song that NIN fans wanted to see performed. This recording is awesome, recorded FOB. Big thanks to BD for taking the rig for the first night and recording the show. It is really a great tape! I love the reactions with the crowd when they hear that song played live.

First show of the tour and NIN opens with playing the Broken EP all the way through! I decided to start a project for the archive this fall on the tour with having a recording rig travel around the country to each shows and nin fans will take it and record a show each night. They will then log their review in a journal that will make it onto the archive when the tour is over. Or whenever the recorder will make it back to me. These recording will be more "raw" to your typical recordings that you'll hear from tapers. This tape is good for their first time recording! Love to hear the crowd's reaction as they keep playing more tracks off Broken. This is also the first performance of "This Isn't The Place" live.

Notes
This was my last show of the NIN tour. I have always wanted to visit this venue since my first recordings I ever owned were from this venue back when I was 12 years old (Depeche Mode 1990 silvers). I would definitely come back to this venue. It was wicked. Not to mention having the hotel right next to the venue so no stress with traffic after the show! We got some ridiculous seats, 3rd row, dead center in front of TR in the pit! It was incredible. A very nice way to end the tour because it will be awhile before NIN hits the road again. I wasn't too worried about getting a recording since I did not know what to expect with being so close to the stage with sound. Not to mention I really wanted to jam out to the show, as it being my last of the tour. This tape was mostly for myself as I can't help but tape any show I go to regardless of sound. So I brought the plug n' play taping rig with the 717. Still one of my favorite mics to use and recently had to repurchase one as my first one was broken when I gave it on loan for some NIN Euro gigs in May. Even though this recording is not on the same level as the Schoeps recordings from a few weeks back, I am still very proud of the tape. It's definitely an average recording as there were a few points in the show where I covered the mic up. This really only happens during "Closer" for a few seconds causing some phasing. Was really excited to get "Reptile" and "The Day The World Went Away." Reptile is always nasty live and TDTWWA using the album version of the song live with all 4 band members jamming out on guitars is fantastic. Of course "Eraser" was the highlight of the set for me!!! NIN also filmed the night as well. As most NIN fans know, sometimes nothing will come of the footage because Trent doesn't like it. So we will see if anything comes of it down the road. They have recorded LA last fall, Vienna during the recent Euro tour and Woodlands. I snapped off a few photos during the show and one was featured on NIN's Instagram! (shameless social media plug, ha!). To my knowledge, there was also another taper in attendance. I would assume that his tape will be superior to mine whenever he may release it.

Took a while for this one to get out because it needed some work. This was a recording done with my traveling rig that I lent out to NIN fans to record some shows. TM recorded a few shows during this past tour in Europe. Sadly, some of the recordings aren't salvageable as the mic crapped out during their travels. This one was probably the most presentable, but like I said this mic lost it's mid-range during the 2nd show and this was farther along in the tour of shows. During quiet points of the recording, you can hear a buzzing. Not sure if that is from the PA, or the mic itself. This is on the archive for archival purposes, obviously. As there are no other recordings for this date.

Hence, why it took so long.
