Notes
Taper's notes, "Recorded Stage right starting about 50 feet from the stacks and slowly moving forward about 20 more feet (see photos). An interesting note was for the entire show there were two ASL interpreters off the right side of the stage who did the entire gig and looked to be enjoying at much as anyone. Overall sounds levels seemed lower in Bend than the show before at Edgefield, there appeared to be less speakers hung up on the stage and there was a more significant breeze. The microphone handled the levels really well without notable distortion but the frequency response is pretty lopsided. As a result, the final recording has been processed a bit to bring the balance of the recording back in line. For a $20 mic on a cell phone, I was really happy with the end product." Also to note, this was recorded at 16-bit/22050 kHz. It is a mono recording.

Notes
Mono recording. Taper's notes, " Taped dead center, in the pit halfway between the stage and board. Not wanting to bring my old MD rig down for this run of shows, I decided to see if there was a phone based solution, leading me to building a couple of microphones myself (http://www.openmusiclabs.com/projects/bootlegmic/index.html). Recordings have some flaws but over the course of three nights I felt like I learned a lot, and came away with something better than I would have with my old rig. The mic I used for the 13th didn't capture the high end as well as I had hoped. During MOTP the pit got a bit unruly, knocking the mic loose, and the phone reverting back to the internal mic. Great A/B comparison point..."
