Decent recording for 1994. Bass is a tad bit heavy, but other than that it is an average tape. Few dropouts in the tape. Probably just artifacts from the tape, as it is over 20 years old.

This is really only for collectors only. The version that is cirulating does not have the best sound. Bass overloads as well as the crowd clips the recording at some parts, Closer is cut and there is a lot of hiss. This recording is really for people who were there or if you want to hear all the banter that happened when Vrenna was struck in the head. If there was a known generation from the master tape we can see if there would be less hiss on the tape. But listening to this tape this must be a very high gen.
Notes
Thanks to Tapeworm48 for sending over a few DATs to be transferred for the archive. This is a 2nd gen DAT tape. Good recording. A few things to be said about this recording: This is the same source as the silver CD "Atrocities." To my ears, it sounds better than the silver CD. Since getting this upgrade, the archive has deleted "Atrocities" from the archive as this source is superior in quality. The DAT had a lineage marked on the back of the case (32 kHz -> Line -> 44.1) which could cause some confusion. At this point, I would assume that the master tape is 32 Khz which transferred a copy via line out to the 1st gen DAT. The 2nd gen DAT was created in 44.1. I did transfer the 2nd Gen DAT at 44.1, but converted it to 32 kHZ since there is no reason to keep it in 44.1 since those frequencies were lost. This might not be CD friendly, but archiving it in its original quality is important. Looking at the unknown CD rip of "Atrocities," there is also a loss in frequencies via spectral analysis. This gives proof that the master tape was indeed recorded at 32 kHZ, but it could also mean I just have an mp3 rip of the silver CD. More investigation is needed. No EQ'ing was done to this recording, just normalized it to under 0 db. Enjoy the tape!

Decent sound on this one. Longer setlist than usual. The only thing is that the master tape runs a bit slow. Its an easy fix.

Thanks to Nigel Cain, this was brought to my attention in 2017. This is a massive upgrade to the previously circulating recording of this recording. I assume this was bought close to the master tape back in the 90's. Thanks to Frank G., the master audio from above was synced with this recording. You can read all the notes in the text file provided in the zip file.
Notes
This unknown audience recording is the same source as the "Killer Instinct" silver CD below, but is the complete recording. As most bootleg CDs at the time cut many songs in order to stay at 1CD, you lost much of the performance. Thanks to a NIN trader, they received a cassette copy of this recording back in the early 90's. It doesn't sound as good as the bootleg, as I assume this is a few generations from the master tape. But still nice to have the full recording!
Notes
Good recording, but incomplete. On the last part of the silver CD (tracks 8-13).
Notes
This comes from a 3rd gen cassette tape, thanks to Smores. To my knowledge, this is my first time seeing this recording and it's first time being released. There were a few problems throughout the night. Mic dropouts and then during "Down In It" the backing tape cassette decided to stop working. It was then aborted and after some time the show was restarted to Trent saying, "You know, they don't make tape decks like they used to." The recording is quite good as well! Big thanks to Smores for lending me all of his NIN cassettes!
Notes
The sound overloads at certain parts of the recording and Now I'm Nothing fades in. Head Like a Hole is incomplete. NIN supported Carter USM and the Wonderstuff for this show. This is taken from a 4th generation tape. If anyone has an upgrade to this source, please get in contact.
Notes
I had a 3rd gen recording from Aaron F that I received a long time ago. I transferred that tape with a Nak ZR-7 deck and at the time didn't really properly azimuth adjust. I think that was in 2010 or so. Then 2014, Smores sent me over a bunch of cassettes to transfer and he also had a 3rd gen cassette tape of this recording. I transferred it with my Nak CR-3A deck that I knew how to dial in well. The quality is amazingly different. The sound is quite more apparent and without so much hiss. I don't know if the earlier transfer method, if I had done it right, would have made any difference to the sound. I suspect it was probably not as low a gen as suspected. This new transfer is about a minute longer. Having more before the show. Nice little upgrade to this recording! "Get Down Make Love" was abandoned and "Head Like a Hole" was abandoned. I think the crowd was not into them and they just wanted to get the set over with. Probably the start of TR's dislike of European tours. Enjoy!
Notes
I received this FM1 copy from a european NIN trader. He got this from a person who taped this off the radio. This is a better copy than the one that is circulating around the internet at this point. The other copy of this tape was definitely sourced from a higher gen cassette. These songs also are featured on the silver CDs, "A Demon Possessed" and "Solid Gold Hell." Each one of these CDs have varying quality of these songs, or some are missing. This also includes the two part intervews with Trent. I personally think this is the best source. I hope that someone is able to transcribe what the announcer is saying in dutch? I would really appreciate it if someone could help.

This was taken from the Silver CD "A Demon Possessed." I assume this was used as filler for the bootleg CD. This is missing "Sin" from this radio broadcast. The FM rip we have on the archive is superior to this source, it also includes the interview with Trent.

Notes
This was taken from the Silver CD "Solid Gold Hell." This is from the same FM broadcast that I have on cassette. A few of these songs are cut at the beginning or the end of them. Hence, why the FM broadcast cassette is the superior source. Still, the sound is very good and this is more complete than "A Demon Possessed."
Notes
Great recording. Thanks to Aaron for sending a 3rd generation tape for the archive. This is a huge upgrade to the source that is circulating. The previous transfer sounded "tinny" and the sound was not as full. This is a raw transfer of the 3rd generation cassette tape, with no EQ or Noise-Reduction.
Notes
This is a different recording altogether from source 2. Thankfully someone has sent me a few low gen cassettes from the earlier tours. The recording is "ok." But this is my first time seeing this show in lossless format. During "Terrible Lie" there is some artifacts from the tape. I have transferred this twice and they are still there. Must be due to it being over a 20 year old tape. This is the 16 bit version. This can be burned straight to CD. If you would like the 24 bit version of this recording, you can find it on DIME or on the NIN Drive.
Notes
This is an mp3 sourced recording. It's an ok recording, but I'd definitely love to have a lossless copy with a lower gen for this show. The mp3 version runs a bit slow and I am not sure if its even worth fixing it. If you have a better copy, please get in contact.

Big thanks to Tapeworm48 for sending me over a bunch of DATs to get transferred. This is a 1st gen cassette tape copied to a 32 kHZ DAT. The recording is ok but to my knowledge this is the first real recording circulating from this date. There have been many fakes out there claiming that it was from this show in Clarkston, but was actually the a recording from the previous day in Chicago. Obviously, I will be on the look out for a lossless copy of this recording, or gathering any other information on it.
Notes
This comes from a 3rd gen cassette tape, thanks to Aaron. This is also a big upgrade, because the one that we had on the archive of this exact source was cut after "Get Down Make Love." So this tape is indeed complete. Good recording. I recently re-transferred this tape (Aug 2014) because my initial transfer in 2011 was not done properly with azimuth adjustment. It makes the sound much better. Enjoy.
Notes
Probably the best recording from the Lollapalooza tour. This recording supposedly was from the master tape as an assortment of master tapes were auctioned off and this one was one of them. Unfortunately there is no information regarding equipment or the taper's initials. Sad that this information was not kept. This is a great recording.
