This was the first show fuzz attended of a short run of February NIN shows they did. They didn't have good seats for the show. But they had befriended the lighting guy (Willie) through the nin forums back then. Willie surprised them at their seat and got them down to the floor and allowed their other friend to watch from the lighting board. Fuzz got pretty close for the show and sadly, there are a few issues with the tape. I think the mics became dislodged from the preamp and there was not a complete connection. It happens right after Mr. Self Destruct starts and then during 'Down In It' it becomes completely connected again as the mics seem to gain power and not have that distorted low end that you hear on many mics when the power is decreased. Which gives you an indication how well the tape would have been for almost 55 minutes of the show. Cool to note listening back to this recording, the intro to Closer is about one minute. I don't remember any other show where the intro to Closer was looped for that long. Also a pretty extensive encore break here. I had thought to have this recording already on the archive (source 1). But upon further investigation. This is actually a totally different recording. I remember getting the equipment information from whomever transferred that DAT and I probably inferred it was Fuzz's tape. So, I have adjusted the information on the archive. Blown away to finally see these tapes make it to the archive. Fuzz will be posting the rest of his concert recordings that I have transferred to is YouTube page which is linked above.

The tape sounds amazing. Thanks to Fuzzmonster for allowing me to transfer their DAT masters from this tour. The initial copy I had of this recording was riddled with dropouts in the left channel. I thought the taper had issues all night, but transferring the DAT master that I can confirm there were no issues. It's an amazing tape. Sadly, the tape does indeed stop during 'Reptile' and pick up during 'Eraser' like the first copy. Must have hit pause or stopped recording accidentally. Trent before the encore says he has been fighting the flu all night during the performance. An amazing upgrade and definitive copy of this recording!

Fuzzmonster sent over his DAT masters from 1993-1994 for me to transfer. This recording has had a few iterations here on the archive. I am glad to finally have the definitive DAT master transfer on the archive. A fantastic tape and a perfect transfer. As many of Fuzz's recordings were marred by other collectors dubbing it for other tapers/traders. They sound incredible.

One of the best recordings from the 1994 tour. Honestly, at times you think there is no way you are listening to an audience recording and this must be a soundboard recording. Great quality. In July 2023 I have found the person responsible for this recording and they sent me their DAT masters to transfer. A huge upgrade from the cassette copy I had of this DAT recording. Thanks to Fuzzmonster for allowing me to transfer these DATs!

I had a cassette sourced copy of this recording and the master DAT transfer blows the original copy on the archive out of the water. More full and not as flat or lack of low end! A flawless recording and one of the best sounding recordings of Ruiner from this tour!

This is one of Fuzzmonster's uncirculated DAT recordings. I was fortunate enough to transfer all of their 1994-1995 DAT masters in July of 2023 after over 15 years of searching on who recorded some of these very epic quality tapes from The Downward Spiral Tour. Previous copies of their tapes were riddled with problems, either from the dubbing process from the master DAT or the subsequent copies to other media by other collectors. Now having the master DATs in hand, working on them, these are the best versions you will get of every tape. Found out that every show was recorded in LP mode with Sonic Studios DSM-3 mics that were plugged in to a TCD-D3 DAT using plugin power . Going through the tapes, I did not know that Fuzz recorded this one. This is actually the first source to show up from this date! This tape is pretty amazing. The vocals definitely have some shriek to them. But the music is ridiculously clear. The performance itself has a few hiccups, and by the sounds of it, Trent takes it out on a lot of the equipment. Dead Souls at the beginning is about 2-3 minutes of the initial loop of the song while they try and fix something on stage. Fantastic to have such quality on the archive. Since I starting collecting NIN live recordings. I have been trying to find out who taped many of these 94/95 shows with Sonic Studio mics. I had come close a few times to getting in contact. 15 years of trying, it finally happened. We talked and discussed and I now know they go by the alias FUZZMONSTER. One of the things I mentioned was how important it was to get the best quality we could out of his DATs. Like many old media, these tapes have a shelf life. The NIN tapes I had of his were not of the best transfers. Some of them may have been DAT master > Cassette and the cassette transfer had drop outs from the initial master DAT transfer. Or maybe a copy did not have a clean pass of the DAT clone etc etc. Fuzz entrusted me to transfer some of his oldest master DATs. I am excited to do this! Some of these tapes I have been listening to for years and to work on the masters is a privilege. DATs during that time were very expensive, so recording in LP mode would double the amount of time you could record on to a tape. The recordings have been very good and there are other bands that fuzz has recorded. I did a few passes for this transfer and there are some spots of diginoise. This is probably due to the age of the DAT tape, as well as the recording being done in LP mode. I tried to clean the spots up as best I could. Thanks to Fuzzmonster for allowing me to transfer these DATs!
